Obi Nwankwo- President
Obi is a self-motivated young engineer, detail-oriented and resourceful in estimating and completing construction projects. He is originally from Anambra State but grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio. Obi Attended the University of Tennessee Martin where he played collegiate football for four years while completing his Civil Engineering degree and returned home to Cincinnati where he received his MBA from the University of Cincinnati. Obi is extremely passionate about the Igbo culture and strives to create a community in Cincinnati where young Igbo professionals can succeed together.
Cara Nwankwo- Vice President, Public Relations Officer
Cara is from the Village of Awa in Anambra State, Nigeria and was raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. She obtained her degree in Psychology from Kent State University before moving back home and working in Clinical Research at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. Cara is currently pursuing her PhD in Pediatric Clinical Psychology. Cara got involved with UIU to learn more about her culture and build strong lasting connections with other Igbo professionals.
Oluchi Uzodinma- Event Coordinator
Oluchi is from Awa Village in Anambra State. University of Cincinnati graduate with BS. Biological Science. Owner and Chef of Luchys Kitchen. Oluchi joined UIU because she absolutely love the Igbo culture and UIU embodies and expresses the soul of the Igbo culture. As a founding member she is so proud to be a part of this organization and proud of the reach and achievements thus far.
Ugo Nwankwo- Financial Secretory
Ugo Nwankwo was born in Enugu Nigeria but hails from Anambra State Nigeria. He attended Nursery through Secondary Schools in Enugu and went to College at Nnamdi Azikiwe University. He emigrated Nigeria in 2007 after landing a job as a Construction Manager in Cincinnati, Ohio. After going through the initial culture shock Ugo was pleasantly surprised to hear of UIU and its various initiatives. UIU has enabled its members within the organization to form live long friendships, business networks, life partner/ marriages, and learn the Igbo language to name a few. This is why he chooses to continue to be member of the great organization.
Nkechi Okocha- Event Coordinator, Marketing
Hailing from Anambra State, Nkechi Okocha is the one behind UIUCincy’s flyers and Event Coordinator. Originally, she got involved with UIU to be able to network with more Igbo young professionals, but the family feel of the organization is what she’s grown to love the most. Outside of UIU, Nkechi is currently completing a Master’s In Health Systems Management (MHA).
Chuks Obineche- Provost
Chuks is originally from Nri, Anambra State. He completed his B.S Accounting and M.S Financial Econometrics. Chuks is currently working at Procter & Gamble as a Financial Forecaster. He got involved with UIU help deepen cultural awareness among those who were not opportuned to be raised in Nigeria and to strengthen relationship/ties with his diaspora Igbo brothers and sisters.
